The Evergreen Cemeter opens new section of lots available for sale

 We have recently opened up a new section of land with lots available for sale on the North side of the Memorial Gardens.  Please call 440-986-2202 for additional information. 

Cemetery Spring Clean Up to begin March 1st, 2016

Please have all memorial deocrations left over from winter removed by March 1, 2016.  Our cemetery crew will be working to spruce up the cemetery for the spring season in April.  Decorations which have become worn, faded, or destroyed by inclement weather will be disposed of upon the discretion of the groundskeeper or Cemetery Board of Trustees.

The Village of South Amherst, through its Cemetery Board, administers and maintains two cemeteries within the Village. 

Pioneer Cemetery is located on South Lake Street and is the resting place of many of our early settlers.

Evergreen Cemetery is located on West Main Street (Route 113) next to The United Methodist Church.  Evergreen has a Memorial Garden which was added in 2005.   For information regarding lot sales or other questions, please contact the Cemetery Board Clerk at 440-986-2202.

Evergreen Cemetery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  During Daylight Savings Time, the evening hour is extended until 8:00 p.m.

Cemetery Rates are as follows:  

Resident Lot: $400.00 
Resident Cremation Lot (4X5): $200.00
Non-Resident Lot: $700.00 
Open/Close: $750.00 
Non-Resident Cremation Lot (4X5): $350.00
Cremation Burial: $275.00 
Records Charge (Replace deeds, transfer deeds, and record second remains in casket) $50.00
Military Footer: $100.00 
All other Footers: $100.00 + $4.00 per running inch up to and including 20 inches in width. All others at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.

***Any funeral arrivals after 2:00 PM have an additional charge of $150.00

Memorial Garden Information

Bricks, tables and benches may be purchased for placement in the Memorial Garden.  Prices are as follows:

Bricks:     4" X 8" are $75.00 each, which includes a 3-line inscription

                8" X 8" are $150.00 each, which includes a 6-line inscription

Table:      $1,500.00

Bench:     $5,500.00
