Park Board Meeting
Board meetings are the first Thursday of the month 7:30 p.m. at the park pavilion weather permitting.
About the Park
The 18+ acre park is located on West Main Street. The entrance is on the south side of the street marked by a sign reading “SOUTH AMHERST COMMUNITY PARK”. You may also enter the park from Palmer Path which is located from the corner of Church and Eberhardt Streets. There is parking, a picnic pavilion, playground, and walking path. The walking path is open year around, weather permitting (during the winter, please park in front of the gates).
Park Hours are from dawn to dusk. The rental rate is $20.00 per four (4) hours or $40.00 per day. Payment is nonrefundable and dates may be rescheduled within the same calendar year if needed. Further questions contact the village hall at 986-2222 ext. 5 or [email protected]
No motorized vehicles are allowed beyond the parking area.
No dumping in the Park.
No grills are allowed on the picnic tables.
Dogs are allowed, must be on a leash and waste must be picked up. There are dog stations available.
Wildflower Donations
Do you need to divide your coneflowers and black-eyed susans? Think about donating them to the park in the spring of 2024 Contact Laurie at [email protected] for further information. The park will begin using pollinator friendly weed spray and will be preparing 2 areas for planting wildflower beds. Look for the changes in the coming months!
